The iPhone XS and iPhone X are two of Apple's most popular phones. Despite the arrival of the iPhone 11 family, they remain attractive to many fantastic. After the arrival of the iPhone X in 2017, a year later Apple renewed its range with the iPhone XS, although both were part of the same family. If you do not want to spend all your money to keep the iPhone 11 or you simply are not one of those who prefer to have the “last” at all costs, the iPhone XS and iPhone X are excellent options and we help you choose.

Performance, battery and charge
Most notable here is the incorporation of Apple's Bionic A12 processor into the iPhone XS. This chip is faster and more efficient than its predecessor, the A11, which you will find on the iPhone X.
Apple suggests that it is 15% faster and 40% more energy efficient. There is also an improved neuronal engine in the A12 Bionic, along with augmented reality and graphic improvements that should please players.
The iPhone X comfortably handles everything you can throw at it, but as more demanding applications and games are launched to take advantage of this jump in processing power, we will see a gap, since, according to Apple, applications are loaded up to 30% faster on the iPhone XS.
There is also a significantly longer battery life on the iPhone XS. On a new device, Apple estimates it should last half an hour longer per day on average. Anyway, Both are compatible with Qi wireless charging.
Winner: iPhone XS
Design and durability
It is difficult to distinguish both phones. As is the tradition with an S update, the body of the iPhone XS is identical to that of the iPhone X. Both have a glass design with a notch on the top of the 5.8-inch OLED screen. However, only the iPhone XS comes in gold.
A case or case is a must for any of these iPhones, so check out our selection of iPhone X and iPhone XS cases. The iPhone XS, however, is covered in a stronger glass.
On the other hand, the owners of the iPhone X, can immerse their phone in shallow water, up to a meter deep, for up to half an hour without damage, while the iPhone XS has a slightly higher IP68 rating, which means that it can handle depths of up to 2 meters during the same period.
Winner: iPhone XS
Both models have the same 5.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,436 1,125 pixels. They are sharp, bright and have precise colors.
The aspect ratio is 19.5: 9, so it is a wide screen, although that distinctive notch cuts a portion of it. The ratio between screen and body remains one of the highest, with 82.9%.
The iPhone X dual lens camera is impressive and, for the same reason, Apple bet on the same configuration on the iPhone XS.
You have two 12 megapixel lenses, both with optical image stabilization (OIS), but one has an f / 1.8 aperture, while the other has an f / 2.4 aperture and supports a 2 optical zoom.
It is capable of capturing large shots in a wide variety of different situations, although it does not coincide with some competitors when it comes to low light photography.
Something very good that it does is capture excellent portrait shots with blurred backgrounds, and the iPhone XS allows you to adjust the depth of field after taking a photo. Apple claims that the sensor on the iPhone XS is twice as fast.
The front camera has the same TrueDepth support, which allows FaceID to work safely and also allows Animojis and Memojis to work well.
Apparently, the iPhone XS has a faster Secure Enclave and an algorithm update, which means that the FaceID system should work a little faster on the newest phone.
Winner: Apple iPhone XS
Software and updates
Apple's iPhone XS starts with the iOS 12 operating system on board, while the iPhone X is launched with iOS 11. However, both iPhones will be easy to upgrade to the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system.
The software experience and the update should be identical for both phones, but we are going to give the iPhone XS a certain advantage, since it is likely that you will receive updates for longer than your predecessor.
Winner: iPhone XS
Perhaps, the main feature here is the TrueDepth front camera, which is capable of scanning your face, even in the dark, to unlock your iPhone.
Apple has used the same technology to animate funny creatures in the form of Animojis or cartoons in the form of Memojis. They will add some fun to your chats and work much better than other similar functions in other phones.
The iPhone XS adds dual SIM support, which is ideal for international travelers. Therefore, he is crowned as a winner in this category.
Winner: iPhone XS
It's no surprise that Apple has made improvements and that the iPhone XS is a slightly better phone than its predecessor, the iPhone X.
It has better performance, longer battery life and some other adjustments to make it more attractive, but the difference is not massive. So, if you already have an iPhone X and want to upgrade, you should already consider the iPhone 11.
Now, if you have to choose between the X and the XS, then we recommend the second one.
