LAS VEGAS.- The manufacturer of processors and chipsets for video cards
AMD I started his conference at
CES 2020 showing its broad impact on the market. In it, they showed off from new-generation video game consoles (both Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Sony's PlayStation 5 use their processors) as Stadia, Google's video game streaming service and Apple's Mac Pro among their most important partners.
New Ryzen processors
But the highlight of the conference was the announcement of the new generation of processors
Ryzen 4000 for the portable market, divided into three categories and manufactured in 7 nm: U-series, for consumers; H-series, for games and Pro-series, for professional laptops. The top of the range, the Ryzen 4800, includes 8 cores and can climb up to 4.2 GHz.
One of the models that were shown at the conference using the new portable Ryzen processor was the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7, which weighs 1.4 kg and does not resign power, with a Ryzen 4000, 16 GB of RAM, 14-inch screen and a base price of 700 dollars. It also sported the Dell G5 SE, which will be available in the second half of this year and combines a Ryzen 4000 chip with Radeon RX 5600M graphics and a 15-inch screen.
Another novelty was the presentation of the new Ryzen Threadripper 3990X processor that completes the 3 generation family of these products designed for servers and creators of multimedia content. This high-performance processor includes 64 cores and will be available from next February 7.
Also during the conference the new video plates of the brand belonging to the Radeon RX 5000 family could be seen. Particularly it was with the new Radeon 5600 XT with which some tests were made with video games. With 6 GB of own memory and running at 1375 MHz, this board runs the games
Gears 5 at 87 FPS (frames per second),
Fornite at 126 FPS and
Apex Legends at 124 FPS; all in high resolution.
The new Radeon family of plates is completed with the 5500 and 5700 models, where some of its traditional partners and assemblers such as ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and XFX were announced. They will be available from January 21 of this year.
