The oral hygiene instrument will be equipped with optical sensors that are able to detect in real time the accumulation of bacterial biofilms as the millions of microorganisms that can be in your mouth are known, so that they can be removed while brushing your teeth.
?(The device) improves the effectiveness of brushing by taking into account the brushing technique of an individual and the accumulation of biofilms in the mouth. It allows us to see when it is necessary to brush more in an area or when the accumulation of biofilm has been eliminated, ?explained Colgate dental director, Maria Ryan.
Through a light system, the instrument will alert you when it is necessary to concentrate brushing in a certain area. "Using a ring of light around the toothbrush, the user will see a blue light when a buildup is found, and then the white light will appear to tell the user to move forward," he added.
The device is compatible with the Colgate Connect application (available for iOS and Android), which allows you to create a complete map of your mouth. After each brushing, you can check the app to see exactly which teeth were cleaned more rigorously, where the process was concentrated and if there are areas that were left with residues.
The application instantly delivers information about the brushing process, personalized data, advice and advice for oral care.
The electric toothbrush, which won the award for Best Innovation for Health and Beauty at CES, will go on sale in the course of 2020, according to the company.
