Xiaomi is the Chinese manufacturer that many may recognize for their smartphones, but the reality is that this company manufactures almost anything you can imagine, going through technological gadgets such as smart handles, electric skateboards and televisions. Among its universe of products, there is a line for home, which contains gadgets such as vacuum cleaners, smart bulbs, security cameras, table lamps, and now also the FIVE Smart Desinfection Lamp, a lamp that removes contagious agents.
As if it were a perfect product for the impending pandemic that the world is currently experiencing at the hands of the Crown virus, and the whole boom of paranoia to prevent the spread of contagious diseasesXiaomi has surprised everyone, with the announcement of the FIVE Smart Desinfection Lamp, a smart home lamp, which promises to keep it free of viral agents.
Although the FIVE Smart Desinfection Lamp is currently only going to be launched in China in March, we already know that it is a small lamp about 24cm high, with two Philips UVC tubes that emit ultraviolet light, which eliminates viruses and pathogens present in the air.
According to Xiaomi, this small lamp is capable of keep a room up to 30 square meters disinfected, eliminating up to 99.9% of viruses present in the environment. Its two bulbs consume 35W of power, and have a useful life of up to 9,000 hours.
Regarding being a smart lamp, this curious home gadget can be connected to the Xiaomi MiHome application to be turned on or off remotely, and although it has not been very clear how this part works, it is capable of send an alarm to the user's mobile device, when it detects viruses in the environment, also generating an audible alert for the occupants of the room.
When the FIVE Smart Desinfection Lamp goes on sale, it will have a value of just about 19 euros, or the equivalent to about $ 70,000 Colombian pesos, although we have no confirmation of whether this gadget is going to be launched in markets other than China.
