DTES Editorial Recommendation
?The HP Elite Dragonfly is a compact and lightweight computer, with an optimal performance in virtually all types of tasks. It also draws attention to the quality of its screen, mainly with the brightness it offers, so it is comfortable to work on it for long hours. ?

Good performance in all kinds of tasks
Long battery life
Comfortable and silent keyboard
Screen with a good brightness level
256 GB base storage
The laptop has become a gadget basically, especially because it remains the great ally to solve multiple tasks in any place where you have an internet connection or that is simply comfortable to write (in various cases, the cell phone serves as the access point to the network).
Thus, in order to make the productivity experience as pleasant as possible, it is essential to find a team that is practical and that responds to the different demands. When trying the HP Elite Dragonfly for a few days, without a doubt, I put it in this category.
The HP ProBook 440 G5 has been a laptop that I have used over the past year, at least, for productivity tasks that involve the deployment of multimedia content and the use of tools in the cloud, from that used to write documents to which are used to store files online. Since this is a 14-inch computer, I thought it would be difficult to quickly integrate the compact Elite Dragonfly, with 13.3-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), like my laptopEveryday job, but the reality was different.
This new 2 in 1, despite being more compact, allows you to carry out different productivity tasks in a comfortable way, to which your keyboard contributes, which almost goes from end to end and is backlit (below it, there is a touchpad that responds quickly to different actions precisely).
As regards the display Protected by Gorilla Glass 5, it covers 86 percent, so the bezels are reduced, however, what is most surprising is the brightness it offers (from 400 nits), so you can work on any type of lighting without complications
Just to put a reference, the HP ProBook 440 G5, my everyday computer, s demands to be constantly rotating its screen, especially in bright conditions, to find a good viewing angle.
Similarly, to play multimedia content of all kinds, the Elite Dragonfly leaves more than satisfied. In Netflix series and movies, images with a good level of contrast are displayed, while the subtitles are read properly (not to mention the stereo sound from Bang & Olufsen). In photographs, there is no significant variation in color with respect to the original image.
Flexible and resistant design
Being a 2 in 1, the HP Elite Dragonfly can be used in tablet mode; That does not mean that you have the possibility to detach your keyboard, rather, the back of the screen can touch the base of the computer. For some, moving to this mode can be somewhat annoying, since it is like trying to fold a newspaper or magazine, to put a crude example, on the opposite side of its original design.
Especially in this way, it is when the HP Active Pen Gen 3 makes sense: it allows from running various applications to drawing directly on the display more easily. This digital pencil, which communicates with the computer via Bluetooth and is rechargeable, gives an accurate and fast response, making it a useful tool for those who like to take notes on the screen of an electronic.
In more of its design, HP ensures that it is the first notebook of the world that is manufactured with recycled plastic, taken from the ocean. Specifically, this material has been used for some components inside. On the outside, the computer looks solid, however, it is very light (it weighs about 1 kilogram); The company indicates that it is made of magnesium for durability.
With respect to the connection with other equipment, it integrates from a USB port to an HDMI input, through USB Type Type C and Thunderbolt connectors, and physical input for headphones. The front camera, interestingly, incorporates a cover, which can be closed for those users who care about their privacy.
As for elements that do not usually come in other laptops of its kind, they highlight the fingerprint sensor located under the keyboard, on the right side, for faster and safer access, and the nano SIM card slot, with which You can even use the phone for cases where a local wireless network is not available.
The HP Elite Dragonfly does not stop the user, since inside it comes with the eighth generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, designed more to meet the needs of an enterprise public, as well as an 8 GB RAM. As for the operating system, it is Windows 10 Pro.
Of course, you can configure a more advanced option, however, with these input elements, you will not have problems to run productivity and entertainment applications.
And to backup files, the base storage is 256 GB, which may be insufficient for those who need to keep images and videos constantly.
Compatible with Wi-Fi 6, the computer can offer battery performance of up to 24 hours. Yes, the time can vary considerably, depending on the level of brightness that is active and the type of programs that are running, however, in the tests carried out for this review, it is possible to state that the equipment makes the User forget to connect it to the power constantly.
In general, the performance granted by the HP Elite Dragonfly is optimal, ideal for people who are looking for a laptop that gives them the perfect balance between productivity and entertainment.
Although the HP Elite Dragonfly is aimed at a professional public, any type of user can feel comfortable with it, especially for its outstanding features, such as screen, performance and portability.
Carrying 1 kilogram in your backpack or briefcase will not be a nuisance, mainly because you will have a portable ready to connect in any space, even with the cell phone's nano SIM card, and for a complete work day without the worry of finding power plug Its intense blue tone does not go unnoticed and is designed for both men and women.
That's right, it's not a laptop cheap, since its price can start at $ 1,500 dollars (in Mexico, part in $ 28,500 pesos), which makes it not a viable option, in economic terms, for the bulk of users.
