Thanks to an update of the Google Smart Lock app, it is now possible to log in safely to your Google account from your iPhone.
The functionality, which is already available on phones equipped with the Android operating system, avoids the need to receive a text message, which can be intercepted by computer criminals, CNBC reports.
It is nothing more than a two-stage authentication form (2FA), which adds a second password to log in, and offers security similar to a Titan Security Key, which Google sells for $ 25 dollars.
The record means that it is possible to recover a password by text message, but thanks to this innovation the process is simplified so much that it is enough to touch a confirmation box on the iPhone.
To have this solution, you need to download the new Google Smart Lock application from the App Store and follow the configuration steps, which request access via Bluetooth. Then, you must log in to your Google account and confirm that you want to use your phone to verify your identity.
After setting it up, every time you try to log in to your Google account, you will first enter your password and then confirm that you are trying to log in by touching a pop-up window on the iPhone, complement CNBC.
In addition to being very easy to use, Google Smart Lock puts a shortcut on any intruder who wants to enter your Google account: from now on, you need to first have your iPhone unlocked to log in.
