If you are not a professional photographer, it is most likely that most of your last photographs have been captured with your cell phone. We have no doubt that the iPhone cameras are among the best and the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are no exception. But do you need to make noise every time we take a picture? If we use our phones to take photographs everywhere, sound may not be ideal in certain situations. In this guide we will show you how to silence the iPhone camera quickly and easily.
Use the mute switch
The easiest way to mute the sound of the iPhone camera is to use the switch on the upper left side of the phone.
When the switch is turned on, then the iPhone vibrates and the button shows an orange stripe to indicate that it is in silent mode.
In addition, you should keep in mind that, by clicking on the switch, all notifications will be silenced, from incoming calls to any other type of alert.
Decrease the volume
But what can you do if the switch does not work? If, for any reason, your silence switch has broken or does not work, then we recommend lowering the volume. However, if you turn down the volume while in the camera application, then start taking pictures in burst mode.
So, if you know that you are going to use the camera application and want to mute the sounds, you can reduce the volume before opening the application using the volume button on the left side of the iPhone below the mute switch.

You can also decrease the volume while in the camera application by scrolling from below to show the Control Center and then swipe left to see the volume control.
Restrictions of each country
Did you know that in some countries it is mandatory to have the sound of the camera shutter at all times? It is not a law, but some operators have imposed it and the phone manufacturers have followed the same example.
Thus, in countries such as Japan and Korea, all smart phones must make sound when using the camera application to take a picture. If you are there, we are sorry to tell you that, even if you silence the iPhone, the camera application will continue to emit a sound.
