Apply the dark mode
It has been shown that dark mode saves battery. Especially in those devices that have an OLED panel, such as the iPhone X, Xs and 11 Pro (including Max models). Applying the dark mode causes black pixels to be muted pixels, and therefore does not consume batteries. In addition, many of the applications are already compatible with the dark mode, and the white colors become black (pixels turned off in the OLED panels).
Applying the dark mode is very simple. We just have to slide from the upper area and open the control center. After, press and hold on the brightness control and click where it says Dark Mode. Vers as the colors change to more black tones.
Disable lift option to activate
This feature is enabled by default on iPhone. It makes the screen activate every time we lift the iPhone. If we lift the cell phone in our pocket or hand while we walk, it is very likely that it will activate automatically and spend a battery. It is best to disable this option. For it, let’s go to Settings> screen> Lift to activate. Disable this option.
Attentive to the use of the autonomous
In the system settings we find an option that shows the use of the battery in the day and allows us to know which application is spending more autonomous. If you want to know which app spends more battery, go to Settings> Battery and go down to the option that says Using the battery by apps. If you want to save try to reduce the use of the applications that appear first in the list. Or, access with them in dark mode to try to save something more autonomous
Activate the low power mode
A classic: Turn on low power mode if you want to save battery. This causes unnecessary background processes to close, disable animations and deactivate mobile data when the terminal is locked (this will cause us not to receive notifications when the screen is off.9) To activate the low power mode, follow the steps below.
- Enter Settings
- Go to the Battery section.
- Activate the option called Low power mode.
Turn off auto brightness
By deactivating the automatic brightness you can save some autonomy, but it can also have an impact depending on the use. For example, sI deactivate the option and you always have the maximum brightness, spend more autonomous. But if on the contrary, you maintain a minimum brightness in most cases, you will achieve greater savings than with the activated mode. Simply because what this mode does is adjust the brightness based on the light detected by the front sensor. Therefore, if we are in places with a lot of light, increasing the brightness considerably and in situations with low light we decrease it so that we can see better.
How do you turn off auto brightness? We have to go to Settings> Accessibility> Display and text size> Automatic brightness Disable this option.
Turn off notifications for apps you don’t use
S, receiving notification of an app also has an autonomous expense, especially because it makes use of animations and mobile data. Personally, it will not deactivate the notifications of the applications we use the most, but those of those that we do not usually enter very often. To turn off notifications for one or more applications, follow these steps.
- Enter Settings
- Go to the Notifications section
- In the Notification Style option, select the app you don’t want to be alerted to
- Turn off the option that says Allow notifications.
Beware of background updates
Even Apple mentions on the iPhone itself that disabling background updates saves some autonomy. By default, most of the applications that we have on the phone activate background updates. In this way the app takes less time to open and allows you to receive news even when we do not use it. This function may not interest us deactivate in the applications that we use most, but if you have apps where to enter from time to time, it is best to deactivate them.
To disable background update of an application, go to Settings> General> Background update. Here you have two options. On the one hand, disable this function by default or use it only when connected to a Wi-Fi network. On the other hand disable the function in applications that you do not want.
