The Xiaomi Redmi 7 is, along with the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi's best-selling mobile phone in Spain through Amazon. Like any other phone of the Chinese brand, the device is not without problems, errors and failures. Problems often related to notifications, connections (WiFi, Bluetooth, USB …), applications… Have you had a problem recently with the phone? Check out this guide with some of the most common mistakes of Xiaomi Redmi 7.
Mi Redmi 7 does not detect the 5 GHz WiFi network
It is not a telephone problem, but a limitation of the Redmi 7 hardware. According to the information shown by Xiaomi, the device only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. This means that we will not be able to connect to the router's 5G network in any way.
Problems with notifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 7
The latest updates of MIUI 10 have corrected this error. Thus, the most advisable is to update to the latest version available through the relevant option in Settings.
If your mobile has not been updated to these versions or lacks MIUI 11, the procedure is as follows:
- Access the Settings application and then the Notifications section.
- Press the Notification Bar option and select the Android option.
- Access the Notch and status bar section and activate the Show icons icons for incoming notifications.
If the above has not worked, a temporary solution may be turn to the application Notifications for MIUI to configure the notification bar manually.
My Xiaomi Redmi 7 does not recognize USB
You have recently connected a pendrive to the phone and the device does not recognize any device? Quiet, it is not a mobile problem. To make use of the OTG function we will have to enable the corresponding option in Additional Settings within Settings; specifically in OTG.
If the problem arises from the USB connector itself (the phone does not charge, does not recognize any USB cable …) it is probably a problem related to the hardware itself. The most recommended before requesting a technical review is turn off the phone and clean the connector with a toothbrush moistened with isoproplic alcohol or format the system to rule out software problems.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 problems with Bluetooth
It does not connect with another device, it does not recognize it … The origin of the problem can be diverse, as well as its possible solution.
In this article we already saw some of the most effective solutions. The one we recommend from tuexperto.com are two: unlink the Bluetooth device and pair again to the system and turn to the Bluetooth Pair application.
If the problem has to do with the phone not recognizing other Bluetooth devices, we can use the developer options to recognize all those devices with no name or MAC addresses in sight.
Simply press several times on MIUI Version in the section My device in Settings and then access the same menu. Finally we will activate the option Show Bluetooth devices without names. All devices with similar addresses a91: 75: 1a: ec: 9a: c7, for example, will be shown as of now.
The last option we can use is based on restoring all device connections. In Settings we will go further and finally Up to Reset Wi-Fi, mobile network and Bluetooth. Finally we will go to the option Recover settings.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 does not update to MIUI 11
According to the Xiaomi road map, all variants of the Redmi 7 should have received the latest version of MIUI 11 going OTA. If it is not your case, you can always force the update through the Dowm applicationi.
The application is limited to showing all versions of MIUI and its packages for later download. We will only have to indicate the phone model (Redmi 7) and the type of ROM (global and stable) to see all the available packages.
Once the update package has been completely downloaded we will go to My device and finally to System Update. Within this section we will click on the three options points and select the option Select update package.
The option does not appear Select update package? Press seven times on the lake of MIUI 10. Automatically appear in the context menu. Finally we will go to the folder downloaded_romand we will select the package that we just downloaded.
The Xiaomi Redmi 7 does not turn on or turn on
It gets stuck in the logo, vibrates and goes out … Before confirming that it is a hardware problem we can carry out a series of actions to recover the phone. In this other article we already saw all types of brick and how to proceed depending on the problem.
The simplest solution, in any case, is based on turning on the phone by performing the following key combination:
- Volume up and power button at the same time
Then we will click on Wipe data to remove all data from the phone and regain access to the system. After accepting the operation, any file (photos, documents, audios …), application or data will be permanently deleted from the device.
Redmi 7 does not recognize the SIM
You have entered the SIM and the mobile does not recognize it? In these cases, it is best to clean the SIM card tray and the card itself with a toothbrush moistened with isoproplic alcohol. It is also advisable to check the tray compartment to ensure that the card is inserted correctly. Remember: the chip should always go down.
Have you checked that the card works correctly? Try entering it on another phone and making a call. If everything is correct, the last solution is to restore the system through the MIUI options in About the phone / Backup and reset / Clear all data.
