With the arrival of Android flagships for the first half of 2020, Qualcomm has been promoting its new high-end Snapdragon 865 chipset. The company has been promoting chip performance, claiming to be the best mobile processor in the market. Now, we have real benchmarks to compare. Someone executed the the benchmark Antutu in a reference device equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (with code name “Kona"). It seems that the results are as excellent as expected of the new hardware.
The Snapdragon 865 surpasses everyone in Antutu
In Antutu, the chipset achieves an overall result of 568,919 points. The above places it above all commercial phones currently available in the market. It is a notable improvement over the Snapdragon 855 what I averaged around 450,000 points. The most impressive thing is that it even manages to beat the iPhone 11 Pro Max and its Apple A13 Bionic chip.
Compared to the Snapdragon 855+, the Kirin 990 5G and the MediaTek Dimensity 1000, Snapdragon 865 an retains its leadership, leaving him as the king of mobile processors today. At this point we must remember that the test has been done on a reference device, so it is entirely possible that the final devices of the manufacturers obtain scores higher or lower than this. Nevertheless, sets a very good standard that other chip manufacturers can point to.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 was announced at its recent summit in Maui, Hawi. Most likely we will see it in all Major flagship Android smartphones in 2020. With the Snapdragon 865, Qualcomm promises an increase of up to 25% in the performance of the CPU and GPU, double the increase in performance in AI tasks and lower power consumption in all areas.
At the moment we can only wait until the first devices with the Snapdragon 865 are available in the market and be able to check their capacity by ourselves.
