The 10 best indie games The winners of the game contest that Google prepares each year for the best creations of small studios have been selected.
Mobile games are increasingly a major business and the big producers of AAA creations look forward to this sector. Casual games like Candy Crush or Angry Birds have billed millions of dollars and others take over. Supercell is one of those companies that is making gold with its creations.
But there are also other developers, much smaller studios that want to stand out and make titles that although they will not be made by millionaires, they denote a love and good work that is always appreciated.
That is why Google organizes an annual contest to reward these proposals. The 10 finalists and the winner have already been published and among them there is a small Spanish studio that we have talked about on occasion.
The winner of this edition is Reigns, a proposal where we will take control of a king, being able to make good or bad decisions about our subjects. In this case, it is not the graphics or the staging that is remarkable, but the theme.
The Battle of Polytopia
In the proposal that has remained in second place we have to create an empire and defend it in the purest style of the classic computer strategy games. We talked about him a few months ago.
Temporary paradoxes and causality are the protagonists of the third classified, a game that is really well thought out and worth trying.
Seven other finalists
Together with these two runners-up and the winner, we have seven more proposals of all kinds, some paid and some free, which are still worth trying.
We talked about Kawaii Jump a few days ago when we tried it and that is Platonic Games, the Spanish studio that has developed it is doing very well. Don't miss his Symmetria proposal either.
All these proposals are worth being tested and although some are paid none have an excessive price for the work that has led to them.
