The Redmi K30 terminal pair (version 4G and 5G) was officially announced earlier this week. Both models have the difficult task of repeat the success of the very popular series Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T. Both new members of the Redmi K series have 6.67 inch IPS panels with 120Hz refresh rates and one pill-shaped perforation for dual front cameras. According to a revelation that has emerged recently, it seems that the space between the two sensors is masked through software to display a black bar.

The Redmi K30 have two perforations on their screen

According to several Weibo publications, the empty space between the two front cameras perforated on the screen is being masked by software. However, when we enter the screen options menu and choose to hide the clipping, we can see the empty space for a brief moment. Other users have achieved force the screen to completely ignore the space between the two sensors, permanently showing the double hole design perforated in the panel.

Because the Redmi K30 series uses LCD panels, black clipping may be noted depending on the conditions of illumination and the brightness level of the screen at some point, since cannot reproduce the deep black of AMOLED panels that turn off the screen pixels when black colors are displayed.

This is a rather curious discovery, and that, according to the comments that have emerged, several would have preferred even that the design of two holes drilled on the screen would remain instead of joining them with software using a dark bar. We will have to see if the company intends in the future allow users to change the design to keep it this way permanently.
