A few years ago Mozilla brought Firefox to Android. That was a long time ago. Not so long since launching a second browser designed for those people for whom privacy was a key issue.
Firefox Focus is this application and has now been updated on Android with improvements both visually and internally, with a new engine called Gecko that promises to be more powerful and faster.
New design, icons, settings …
The most striking change of this application is the visual one. Focus has sidor redesigned with a more current aesthetic although it maintains those purple and violet colors that are so characteristic.
In addition to the design lines we have new icons, simpler and simple settings menus and a new address bar.
Privacy remains a priority
Focus remains a browser in which the browsing history is deleted every time we close the application and By default, both ads and tracking items are blocked They use many web pages.
This could make the browser itself not work at all well so Mozilla herself warns us that we may have to be careful with this.
In spite of everything we can enable search suggestions in the new address bar, something that will save us time when writing.
But the biggest internal change is the browser engine called GeckoView. And this is important given that it is responsible for the increase in speed that Firefox users have experienced on desktop thanks to one of the greatest optimizations this application has had.
Moreover, this new engine is not yet used in the normal version of Firefox for Android or iPhone apps, so Focus users will be the first to have it.
