How to follow the Dakar Rally 2020, this year in Saudi Arabia

It has been a decade since the Dakar Rally does not go through Dakar. Following the suspension of the 2008 edition for threats of Al Qaeda, it was decided to transfer it to another continent. First came South America with competitions held in Argentina and Peru.

For the 2020 edition, it has opted for another country: Saudi Arabia. For the first time in more than forty years of history, participants will travel exclusively through the Asian continent. They will leave Jeddah and reach Qiddiyah.

The last time a Spaniard won the Dakar Rally was very recently, in 2018, when the mythical Carlos Sainz won the car category. I had already done it in 2010, while Nani Roma did it in 2014.

In the motorcycle category, the Catalan Marc Roma is undoubtedly one of the best, having in his palm five victories of the famous raid rally: 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015. Before he had already done it also Rome, in 2004.

In the 42 edition, there will be no Spanish motorcycle representative, but there are three cars in the country: Nani Roma (Borgward), Carlos Sainz (Mini) and Fernando Alonso (Toyota). Do not miss the Dakar Rally 2020.
