Several reports are appearing all over the world from people who have problems with weak signals and dropped calls with their new Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus phones.
Android Police is a thread in the Samsung support forum in which several people report that they receive weaker signals on several operators, although Sprint reports seem to outperform those of AT&T and T-Mobile. The site also says that in its own tests, even the way you hold the phone and if it is inside a cover can affect the signal.
A few people have isolated the problem with the use of a weaker seal band, at least in Sprint:
Some have been able to solve the problem in Sprint temporarily by [in] enabling Band 41 and 25 support on their devices through a hidden Data Programming menu. Given the specificity of the frequencies for the Sprint-related correction, problems in other operators could be a separate problem.
Android Police adds that their own experiences seem to depend on the location and frequency of the band, and users of T-Mobil or AT&T in Band 12 had more problems than those of T-Mobile with Band 2. Most of the reports come from the owners of S10 Plus.
Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
