Verizon opens its 5G network in Chicago and Minneapolis

The Moto Mod 5G module can be attached to the Moto Z3 phone to offer you access to the Verizon 5G network.

Verizon announced this April 3 that its consumers in certain areas of Chicago and Minneapolis already have access to its 5G network.

In order for these customers to access the Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband network, they will need to use the Moto Z3 phone and put a Moto Mod module, specifically Verizon's which incorporates 5G technology. The telephone usually sells the Moto Z3 for US $ 480 but for a limited time you can buy it with a 50 percent discount if you pay it in installments. The 5G Moto Mod is currently available for US $ 200 although its regular price is US $ 350.

This means that if you live in certain areas of these two cities right now you can try the high speeds of 5G for US $ 440 instead of US $ 830. Verizon promises that these residents will notice a speed of up to 1 Gbps.

But ah the expenses don't end. The 5G connection will cost an additional $ 10 a month to subscribers of the unlimited Go, Beyond and Above plans, although the first three months will be free, according to Verizon.

Verizon said to launch 5G in another 30 cities in the US this 2019.
