The second day of the Summit Snapdragon Summit in Hawi it took place yesterday. During this, Qualcomm continues to reveal information about the new products it has presented to enhance future 5G devices: the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765 / 765G chipsets. During the second day we saw how the company revealed that the GPU drivers of these SoCs can be updated as if they were applications through the Google Play Store. Now, Qualcomm has finally detailed the high-end Snapdragon 865. This model will surely boost most of the premium Android phones next year.
The new Snapdragon 865, detailed by Qualcomm
The Snapdragon 865 promises to have a performance CPU 25% faster and one 20% faster GPU in comparison with the Snapdragon 855. This in turn with a 25% higher CPU energy efficiency and 35% higher GPU efficiency.
CPU gains are achieved primarily through the use of the new ARM Cortex-A77 performance cores (A76 at 855). Having said that, the configuration of the CPU is practically the same, with equal clock speeds without changes between generations. Therefore, there are still a ?Prime? core (marketed as Kryo 585) with clock speeds of up to 2.84 GHz, three performance cores (Kryo 585) with 2.4 GHz clock speed and four Kryo 385 cores (based on Cortex-A55) low comsumption with clock speed of up to 1.8 GHz.
144Hz screens, cameras up to 200 megapixels and more
The new Adreno 650 GPU supports QHD + screens up to 144Hz and UHD up to 60Hz. As for memories, it is compatible with UFS 3.0 storage and LPDDR5 RAM.
The Spectra 480 ISP Supports main cameras up to 200 MP (or 64 MP with zero shutter delay), or up to 25 MP double cameras. It also offers 4K HDR @ 60fps video capture with burst images of 64MP, in 4K at 120fps or in 8K at 30fps. It also allows unlimited capture of images from 720p at 960 fps.
The X55 modem is part of the package. Provides 4G and 5G connectivity, achieving maximum thermal download speeds of 7.5Gbps in 5G and 2.5Gbps in 4G (and 3Gbps and 316Mbps uplinks, respectively). Admits independent and non-independent 5G networks, as well as developments in sub-6 and mmWave.
The Snapdragon 865 has Wi-Fi certification 6. It is also compatible with Bluetooth 5.1 and aptX TWS, aptX Adaptive and aptX Voice cdecs. He Hexagon 698 and Tensor Accelerator they bring an engine 5th generation AI It doubles the performance of its predecessor.
