It seems that Xiaomi has no problems in cannibalizing its own sales. And no, we are not talking about the launch of the PocoPhone F1, but of the plans that have been discovered to launch not one but two new versions of the Xiaomi Mi 8 a terminal that we remember already has three options for sale in China.
They are about two new versions with very different approaches to each other but similar to what we have already seen.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition
The first of the two models has a nickname that makes the audience it focuses on quite clear: young people.
Rumors talk that this model would have a Snapdragon 710 as a processor but unlike the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, which uses that chip, it would have the same camera as the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition.
This model will not have a fingerprint sensor in the rear area, so it is either implemented in front or it is decided to dispense with it, leaving biometric security in the hands of infrared facial unlocking.
There would be three variables that would be sold, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of memory or with 6 GB of RAM, in this case there are two storage options, 64 and 128 GB. The colors that are shuffled are blue, gold and gray.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition
The second model would be a mobile similar to the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition while I would not have a fingerprint sensor in the back area, but on the screen.
However the memory specifications would be like those of the conventional Xiaomi Mi 8, with 128 GB of internal memory and options of 6 and 8 GB of RAM. It would be available in gold and black.
The two are expected to come with Android 8.1 Oreo under MIUI 9 although there are no details of whether any of them, after being presented in China, will be launched in other markets.
