There is no news about an English release yet.
You didn't really dig the gameplay of Stranded death, but really loved the world and the story that Kojima Productions created? Well, you are not alone there, since it was not a game for everyone for sure, and if you read Japanese you are lucky, because the story without the real game is available in novel form as of today.
The novelization of Stranded death It is available now in Japan and has been seen in nature. It is divided into two parts and is written by Kenji Yano under the pseudonym of Hitori Nojima. As of now, it is only available in Japanese without any word on when a translation into English will come. The Shinchosha editor also said that in February a steel version of the novel will arrive, which is … somewhat strange, but the game was incredibly popular in Japan, so I suppose we will move on.
Stranded death It is now available for PlayStation 4 with a PC version to arrive in 2020. Watch for a December update next month that addresses some quality of life issues.
