WhatsApp tests the messages that self-destruct, in the purest Telegram style

International.- WhatsApp is the leading instant messenger app in the sector and is used daily by more than 600 million users worldwide and has been imposed on other options such as FB Messenger, WeChat and Telegram. In fact, from this last app it seems that you have copied a function that is very successful: the messages that self-destruct.

Already in the month of October began the first signs in the app and now begin to be available for some users of the beta. They are already being able to choose the time for our conversations to be deleted automatically without having to be careful to delete them.

It is called "Deleted Messages"

This feature is present in the beta 2.19.348 of WhatsApp in Google Play, although it is not being deployed to all users enrolled in the app's betas program, as it is a first version of this function, which they are looking to test and to perfect.

Initially, the function was called "Disappearance of Messages" and has now been renamed "Deleted Messages". This feature is found in the contact information or within the group configuration but, in this case, only administrators can enable it to be used by members.

You can choose from 1 hour to 1 year

When you enter this function, you can activate and choose the time for the message to be deleted automatically. It is a kind of programming that allows us to choose between 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or even 1 year. When choosing time, it is WhatsApp that is responsible for deleting all messages to a contact or within a specific group.

At the moment, it is not possible to choose the message you want to delete since the function covers the whole conversation. It is also a feature optimized for the dark mode, at least on Android.

Of course, it is not known when this new WhatsApp functionality is available, as it is a beta phase feature. So you have to be aware to see when you see the light.
