Netflix changes its rates and adds new features

Netflix arrived three years ago in our country and since then it has managed to have two million families subscribe to its service. A figure not negligible considering that some of its pricing plans allow several simultaneous connections.

But like any company, Netflix wants to grow not only in the number of users, but also in the income of each one, which is why prices rise from time to time. But this time the movement is different.

Changes in Netflix rates

The Red Hastings company is changing the available price plans when a user goes to to register on the platform from Spain. So far there were four options:

  • Basic: it cost 7.99 euros and allowed 1 SD connection.
  • Standard: it cost 10.99 euros and allowed 1 HD connection.
  • Premium: it cost 13.99 euros and allowed 2 UltraHD connections.
  • Ultra: it cost 16.99 euros and allowed 4 UltraHD connections.

But from now on the new customers will see how the characteristics of the rates are modified, being this way:

  • Basic: it costs 7.99 euros and allows 1 SD connection.
  • Standard: it costs 10.99 euros and allows 2 HD connections.
  • Premium: costs 13.99 euros and allows 4 UltraHD connections.
  • Ultra: it costs 16.99 euros and allows 4 UltraHD connections with highest quality audio.

That is, from now on we can choose to pay two prices for connections of four devices, depending on whether or not we want a better audio (we understand that they refer to DTS and Dolby audio).

This price for now does not apply to old accounts

We have verified that these movements do not apply to current users, who continue with the options that were available when they were registered. In our case, three options:

  • Basic: it costs 7.99 euros and allows 1 SD connection.
  • Standard: it costs 10.99 euros and allows 2 HD connections.
  • Premium: costs 13.99 euros and allows 4 Ultra HD connections.

It is a test movement, that is, it does not apply in all cases. This is because the company conducts experiments to best shape the tastes of users.
