Honor has just presented in Spain one of the latest models that the firm had already announced in China. This is the Honor 8X, a mid-range smartphone that especially attracts attention by using one of the latest processors created by Huawei, the Kirin 710. And next to it has brought a wearable brand for the first time to Europe, the Honor Band 4.
Differentiation by size
We have attended the presentation event of this model in our country and it draws attention especially for its diagonal of 6.5 inches, although it does not get too big in the hand given the ratio used in the panel, the width-to-high ratio. This is 19.5: 9 and has FHD + resolution.
The company claims that this model reaches the 91% screen on the front, with 4.25 mm lower chin, thanks to a new antenna technology that saves space.
Despite that the weight is contained, with 175 grams, far from the 200 that other competitors have exceeded. The measurements are also contained, with a thickness of 7.8 mm.
A better processor
One of the benefits we most want to try is its new processor, a chip that replaces the highly exploited Kirin 659 in the mid-range that we saw in many products last year.
He Kirin 710, like the 970 and 980, they use artificial intelligence to be able to perform daily tasks faster. And let's not forget the Turbo GPU that this smartphone also has.
Along with this we will have 4 GB of RAM and an internal memory that varies depending on the configuration chosen, with 64 GB or 128 GB.
In the connectivity highlights the triple tray, dual SIM and microSD. In addition, the Honor 8X is faster when it comes to recovering coverage much faster than other mobiles. You can also apply sound quality enhancement filters on calls.
The dual rear camera is maintained
Honor has taken chest in the presentation of the Honor 8X when talking about its dual rear camera. They have said that they were pioneers (with Huawei) in the bet for this type of configuration.
In this case we have a 20 Mpx sensor with a secondary support that is used to take photos with advanced blur, the well-known portrait mode. This secondary sensor has 2 Mpx.
Artificial intelligence will detect up to 22 different scenarios with detection of more than 500 different elements.
But above all, it highlights the Super Night Mode, released on the Huawei P20, which allows you to stabilize the image for up to 6 seconds without a tripod. Artificial intelligence is also used to capture clean images in Sport mode.
With the Honor 8X we can record slow motion video with a variable ratio of four between 120 fps and 480 fps.
The front camera on this occasion has only one sensor, 16 Mpx. We can take photos with blur using the AI of the processor and use the camera for facial unlocking.
