Verizon is collaborating with Google to offer YouTube TV, both companies announced this week.

According to a press release, the service ofstreamingof live television, YouTube TV, be available to Verizon customers with residential 5G and also those subscribed to its Fios fiber optic service.

A Verizon spokeswoman explained that YouTube TV will be available as of today for its residential 5G subscribers in the cities of Houston, Texas, and Indianapolis, Indiana, and said more cities will be added in the future. For its part, the Fios service is only available in cities and states on the East Coast.

Verizon already offers5G mobile in the cities of Chicago and Minneapolis for cell phone users Moto Z3 with the Moto Mod 5G and this 2019 plans to extend the 5G mobile network to 30 other cities in the United States. The spokeswoman did not say if Verizon 5G mobile users could be the next to take advantage of the offer.

It seems that the telephone does not offer the service for free and instead launch promotions to engage its consumers. For example, it now offers a free year to Netflix, but only with a two-year contract to Fios for US $ 80 per month.

Google recently uploaded theYouTube TV price at US $ 50 per month, an increase of 25 percent.

"We were the first in the world to offer the commercial 5G network to our customers and now we are the first to offer our customers access to YouTube TV on whatever platform they choose," said Erin McPherson, leader of content strategy at Verizon.
