In spite of everything, Samsung is still betting on folding smartphones and does so without changing in excess what we have already seen. The company has presented its new in China Samsung Galaxy W20 5G, which is based on a Galaxy Fold with slight changes in its hardware, 5G connectivity and some tweaks in its design.
The folding Galaxy with 5G is now official
When the new Galaxy Fold was announced we were told that there will be a 5G version with slight changes, however what we have encountered is that it has been launched as a new device, at least in China.
This new Samsung Galaxy W20 5G shares many of the features of the Fold, including its folding screen of 7.3 inches and the film with which it is protected. In other words, it seems to suffer from the same delicacy. However, its design has changed slightly, making it double when thicker. If the Galaxy Fold has measures of 160.9 x 62.8 x 15.7 mm, while the Galaxy W20 5G goes to 160.9 x 62 x 17 mm.
This slight change makes the folding area wider and suffers less, something important for such a fragile screen. The sides have also been modified and are no longer rounded, but a more flat style has been chosen.
However the real changes are inside and that is that the Samsung Galaxy W20 5G comes with 5G connectivity and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processorcuriously there are also aspects where you have lost and that is that the battery has dropped to 4,235 mAh . What they have maintained is their 12GB RAM and a 512GB storage capacity.
