The mere existence of a third Shenmue demonstrates how effective it can be a dedicated and passionate fan base. For almost two decades, the fans of the series have been begging for the conclusion of Ryo Hazuki's pica adventure to solve his father's murder. The first Shenmue released for Sega Dreamcast even before the new millennium in 1999, with the sequel to Xbox and original Dreamcast two years later. With the story hanging in limbo, a sequel to Shenmue has been a wish among the players for a long time.

Finally, the fantastic request was granted in 2015 during Sony's E3 press conference. Something like. Legendary game designer Yu Suzuki actually announced Kickstarter's campaign for it. Still, the campaign was funded instantly and development began in Shenmue III. Four years later, and we are on the cusp of launching the game. A long wait, but when you waited more than a decade, it becomes easier, I guess.

It is not that there is not enough Shenmue during this period. The original editor of the first two titles of Shenmue released a remaster package of both titles last year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It is an excellent way to accelerate the game's history. It is a bit strange that, despite obtaining the remasters, Shenmue III no longer comes to Xbox One. We suspect that a late port will arrive sometime in the future.

Shenmue III will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC next week, November 19. On PC, the game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games Store.
