ARCHOS presents its range of Gen10 XS tablets and the first model, the 101 XS

Movement in the tablet market. ARCHOS has just presented today its new line of tablets, the Gen10 XS, continuing with the previous G9 collection. And to release this new range of tablets, a first tablet, the 101 XS, has also been introduced. Let's see a little more details about it.

ARCHOS 101 XS

This first tablet of the new ARCHOS range comes quite equipped. Nothing less than:

  • 10.1 inch screen
  • Dual-core 1.5 GHz OMAP 4470 processor
  • Android 4.0 ICS (Upgradeable to 4.1 Jelly Bean at the end of the year)
  • Weight 595gr
  • Thickness 7.9 mm
  • 16 GB flash memory
  • Micro USB, Micro SD (up to 64 GB), Mini HDMI
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0

This small tablet will arrive at the beginning of November to US stores for a Price of $ 399.99. If you are interested or want to check it out, the AndroidCentral guys have had the chance to try it. You can see an analysis of her here.

Gen10XS range

Although the 101 XS will be the first tablet, more models have been announced for the rest of the year. For example it is known that a 9.7-inch model called 97XS will be released and another with the name 80XS that, as you will have deduced, will measure 8 inches. Both tablets will arrive at the end of the year. What should be noted is that the star feature of this range will be the new "Coverboard", a magnetic keyboard which acts at the same time as tablet / keyboard case / cover. The Coverboard connects to the 101XS via a special dock that maximizes the keyboard experience (with special Android buttons and everything). Best of all, it will only add 5 mm thick to the tablet.

In any case, we will expect more news about this new range of tablets that looks pretty good in terms of price / quality. What do you think? Will it live up to its competitors?
