How can I empty the trash in Android?

Something we use a lot in Windows is the Recycle Bin when we delete a file and we want to recover it. Well, although Android does not have this system natively there is some option that allows us to have a similar experience in Android.

Google's operating system does not have any recycle bin as we know it for example in Windows. If we delete a file, it does not go anywhere waiting to be permanently deleted by the user, but the system is responsible for that task automatically.

I know we can recover deleted photos and videos or contacts, as we have already told you in other articles, but these are not stored exactly in a recycling bin like the ones we know.

There are some brands like Samsung or Huawei that in his File manager already incorporate a recycle bin own. The problem is that when you delete something outside the manager does not happen to that bin. That is why we are going to tell you a solution that will allow you to have a bin that works with all apps.

With Recycle Bin we can have a recycle bin

This application allows us to have a recycle bin, active at all times, where those files that we deleted will be saved.

  1. Download Recycle Bin for Android

Once installed when running the app you will ask us to give you the relevant permissions so that it can work, something that we must access.

If we have already done so, we will see that the recycle bin is already in operation. In the notifications we will have, from this moment, a trash can icon which shows that Recycle Bin is active and working to be the recycle bin of our Android device.

In the application we have, specifically at the top right, a button what can we use to activate or deactivate the application without having to delete it, in case at any given time we don't want you to save any file

From now on all the files that we delete from our Android will be in this bin, to empty when we want and the files that we want.

When we enter Recycle Bin we will see how all the files that we have been deleting are stored, either from the galley app or from the file management application we have.

How to update all applications on Android

In each file we have three options:

  1. Information: With an icon with an i in blue in a circle, used to open that file and see what it contains, if it is compatible with any app of our Android device.
  2. Restore: It is an icon with a green cross in a circle that allows us to re-record said file in the same place from where we delete it.
  3. Delete: With the x-shaped icon in a circle, we permanently delete the file from our recycle bin.

The biggest failure of this application is the multiple files cannot be marked for deletion all at the same time and forces us to have to go one by one, so it is convenient to delete the files with a certain frequency so that we do not accumulate many to erase in a single stroke.

This application (although there are others) is a great way to have a Recycle Bin to empty occasionally in our Android device, waiting for Google engineers to decide to incorporate this element in one of their future updates.
