So far this year, Google has updated the vast majority of the applications that it puts at our disposal adapting them to the dark mode, dark mode that was already available on some Huawei and Samsung models (which adapted it with Android 9) and now from official form with the launch of Android 10.
However, one of the applications that at the moment still not offering the dark mode is Google Maps. This application offers us a configurable dark theme that is activated automatically or manually while browsing, but keeping the interface completely white. The latest evidence suggests that this is about to change.
The first indications that the dark mode in Google Maps is about to arrive are found in some parts of the application. The Google Maps beta shows some parts of the application in dark color, specifically some of the navigation buttons. The reason why Google has not adapted the dark mode in the application of maps, once again, we do not know, but it should probably have a strong reason for not having already done so, a reason that escapes most of us .
Currently, if we want to use Google Maps in the vehicle when it's dark, the visual blow that our eyes receive is unfortunate, especially if we have configured the dark mode both in the menu and in the applications that are compatible. It is true that if we activate the operation of navigation, a dark mode is shown, but the blow to the eyes is not taken away by anyone.
Google does not usually add many features to the Google Maps application, although it does receive continuous updates. Hopefully the dark mode will not take much longer to arrive. We will be attentive to its launch.
