Android 5.1.1 arrive for Nexus 9 and Nexus 7 (2013)

On March 10, Google released the first major update of Lollipop, Android 5.1. But obviously, the machinery of the Mountain View giant does not stop there are already signs of an update to Android 5.1.1. For now it has not been confirmed except for tablets Nexus 9, last model presented at the end of last year, and the Nexus 7 (2013). It is possible that it is due to a problem that only affects these devices or it is possible that the final version arrives with more improvements and ends up reaching other models such as Nexus 10 and Nexus 5.

With the arrival of Lollipop and its major changes, Google expected manufacturers to put the batteries and reduce the platform fragmentation updating its different models to forced gears. The result could not have been more disparate, and precisely the numerous changes that were introduced with the fifth step have not allowed brands to update their catalog and the few that receive Lollipop received, do so at a rather slow pace. The latest Android market share data reflect this.

To top it off, even Google itself is having trouble keeping its Nexus range up to date. So much so, that Android 5.1 Lollipop, released more than a month ago, recently arrived for the Nexus 7 (2013) – factory images. Despite this, it is precisely the Nexus 7 of 2013 one of the first that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop could receive. So has Google confirmed to application developers. The other will be the Nexus 9, which has not received Android 5.1. Will there be a problem that both share that has prevented this release?

Logic invites us to think that it is an error that for reasons we do not know has affected these two tablets specifically, and therefore, Google has stretched the deadline to upgrade to Android 5.1. If these arrangements have not taken effect, the "easiest" is to launch a new version, Android 5.1.1 for both devices, eliminating the conflicting parts and adding the improvements that have worked correctly. However, this is nothing more than speculation, so we will wait for Google to pronounce again.
