Google Files Go application renamed Files by Google – TecNoticias, your information portal
Google has announced that its Files Go application will now be called "Google Files." The file manager application is currently used by more than 30 million daily active users. The company recently did the same with its Tez payment solution application, which is now known as Google Pay and Android Wear, which is also known as Wear OS.
Files Go was launched almost a year ago for devices with lower grade specifications, which had a problem handling file managers who needed resources. The application gave suggestions to its users on how to manage the storage of their device to make the most of it and, at the same time, was an extremely optimized file manager. The company in a blog post stated that the application is being used by many people outside the initially targeted audience, so the name change is occurring.
Google has also slightly modified the design of the application to meet all types of smart phones. The application now opens directly in the file management interface instead of in the suggestions start screen. Google claims that the application now has a much stronger file management interface.
The application will still be offered independently, available for users to download through the Google Play Store. Do not replace the existing Files application, which comes with the Android AOSP package, which manufacturers install on their devices.
