Everything seems to indicate that Alphabet, the parent company of Google, is in serious conversations to buy Fitbit, the famous technology company that stood out at some point for its smart watches, according to a new report of Reuters.
So far there is no confirmation that this agreement is being carried out, but sources familiar with this information ensure that Alphabet is interested in acquiring the company that emerged in 2007, although the amount is also unknown because this transaction will take place.
If the reports are true, Google will be closer to competing with brands such as Apple when developing a Pixel smartwatch, since for many years there has been talk that the company based in Mountain View wants to developSmart Watches.
In January, Google paid 40 million to acquire some kind of smart watch technology from Fossil, but it's not clear what that technology was. An executive of the watch company said at the time that it was a innovation of new products that has not yet reached the market.
We will surely have news about this transaction later, since for the moment both Google and Fitbit have not made any comments about it.
