The Mountain View company offers the application for mobile devicesGoogle Messages, preinstalled on many devices and available in Google Play Store for the rest. And on it, they are already testingRCS, your servicerich messages. It is a new technology that, in short, makes Messages work as iMessage on iPhone. That is, supporting SMS andfree message by Internet. But how is it activated?
Google Messages, which in Spain is known as?Google Messages?, is the native SMS and MMS app on Android mobile devices. And it has always supported these two messenger formats, conventional messages on mobile networks and those enriched with multimedia content. Now, however, Google is making the leap toRCS As a new additional format. In practice, it translates into converting ?Messages? into something more similar to iPhone's iMessage. That is, an app that you can also sendInternet messages and without cost, when it is to another device also compatible with RCS.
RCS is on Android what iMessage on iPhone, an alternative to WhatsApp
In this way, the Mountain View company not only puts Android at the height of iMessage on iPhone, but also poses anative alternative to WhatsApp and other instant messenger apps. The question is how to activate RCS in Android Messages, and we must start by downloading thelast beta of the application from the Google Play Store, in the following link and being subscribed to the beta update program.
Once downloaded this app, in its last beta, we will need another application that isActivity Launcher, also available for free on the Google Play Store at the following link:
Having both apps installed, now what we will do isdisable WiFi and open Activity Launcher. We will change from ?Recent activities? to ?All activities? at the top and in the list we will look for the appPosts. We will press and, among the options, we will select?Set RCS flags?. Then in the section?ACS URL? we will choose http://rcs-acs-prod-us.sandbox.google.com/. Now we will close the Messages app, we will open it again and when it opens we will accept the dialog box.
The next step is to reactivate WiFi connectivity on our device and, after a few minutes, the app should show that we are connected. If so, the service will have been activatedRCS on our device, in the Google Messages app for Android. It is something that is being tested, so it may not work for all users, or it may take some days for them to work properly.
