After long months of rumors and speculation, it is finally official: Apple AirPods Pro with noise cancellation are real and were launched by the company. The new wireless headphones are already on sale from October 28 on the Apple website and will arrive in stores on October 30. Its price? $ 249 dollars.
The design of the new AirPods Pro is very similar to the filtered images that we saw since the beginning of this year, with heads with silicone tips that fit inside the ear. They have an active noise cancellation function, but this can be changed to a transparency mode, allowing the input of external sounds. They are also the first Apple AirPods to obtain an official IPX4 water resistance rating, something consumers have been asking for for quite some time.
The AirPods Pro sensors have also been redesigned, so you can now tap them lightly to control the usual functions, as well as the new transparency mode. The volume is still modified with an iPhone or iPad.
Apple said that the new AirPods Pro benefit from an adaptive equalization system that "automatically tunes the low and medium frequencies of the music to the shape of an individual's ear, resulting in a rich and immersive listening experience."
Along with these new features that are exclusive to AirPods Pro, there are many other known features of previous models of Apple headphones, such as hands-free access to Siri. The headphones have the H1 wireless chip that Apple custom designed and uses in both its AirPods and Powerbeats Pro.
Battery life is another area that has apparently not changed in the AirPods Pro: it remains at 5 hours of continuous use. Note that this number drops to four and a half hours when active noise cancellation is used.
