One of the aspects that differentiates Android of other mobile systems (although Windows may resemble at some point) is in that of the widgets, small customized panels that add the possibility of creating desks to the taste of the users with elements of aesthetic and / or practical value. Today we show you a tool to generate a clock on the home screen with a photo of your gallery.
Although Apple has incorporated the widgets starting with iOS 8 in its interface to iPhone Y iPad, it is a much more residual way of using them, since we must access the notification area, displaying an extra screen and, therefore, it is not part of an experience as central as that can be offered on Android. In addition, the Google system has an infinitely greater variety of possibilities. Just visit the Play store and we will find hundreds of variants at your fingertips.
Picture2Clock: download and installation
This application can be improved in certain ways, it is also one of the ones that achieves the best rating from users on Google Play. Its base version is free, although we can remove the ads in exchange for a micro-payment of 1.99 euros in-app. This is the download link:
Uploading to Premium will also give us the option of use other formats when creating a clock.
Although the interface is in English, its operation is very simple to understand. If you do not handle the language, then we tell you how to proceed in the creation of a widget with any of your photos.
Hands-on work: we choose photo and format
For starting to generate a widget, the first thing is to click on the + button of the main interface. Next we choose the form: Rectangle (square), Circle (circular) or Retro (rectangular elongated). Then we choose the style: Analog or Digital. Finally, the format: 12 or 24 hours.
Once we have all these elements decided, click on Add Image and we will have the opportunity to navigate through different spaces to find one to our taste photo: the Gallery, the application of Photos, Downloads, but also Dropbox and others virtual storage services Similar. When we are ready, click on Preview and the result will be shown to us.
Before saving, there is another element that we can adjust: the level of opacity of the clock. We will move the indicated point through the bar until the result is to our liking.
Bring the widget to the home screen
The free application only allows us to have a saved widget, so the one we have made will appear selected by default. If we get bored of it, we can always edit it.
To bring the widget to the home screen we just have to apply the usual procedure and choose the option of 2 × 2, 3 × 3 or 4 × 4 Picture2Clock. The negative part is that the Clock occupies perhaps too much screen for the size itself useful. Either way, it is one of the best options from Google Play.
