According to Samsung, this Exynos 990 is 20% faster and more efficient in energy consumption than its direct predecessors, the Exynos 9820 and the Exynos 9825. In addition, it supports screen refresh rates of 120Hz and has an improved graphics card.

As for the technical, it is manufactured with 7nm EUV (ultraviolet) technology and has 8 processing cores, together with 2 neuronal processing units (NPU), distributed in this way:

  • Dual-core (custom CPU)
  • Dual-core (Cortex-A76)
  • Quad-core (Cortex-A55)

On the other hand, this Exynos 990 uses a GPU ARM Mali-G77 MP11. In regards to memory, you can use a RAM LPDDR5and storage units UFS 2.1 or UFS 3.0. These features guarantee a higher speed in the writing and reading of mobile data.

Cameras and screens that support the Exynos 990

As far as cameras are concerned, this new Samsung processor can manage cameras up 108MP or dual 24.8MP cameras. That way, allow video recordings in 8K at 30fps or in 4K UHD at 120fps.

In addition, the Exynos 990 support screens 4K UHD (4096 x 2160) or WQUXGA (3480 x 2400). And, as mentioned earlier, be compatible with 120Hz refresh rates, as the Galaxy S11 is presumed to have.

  • 5G mmWave (maximum download speed of 7.35 Gbps)
  • LTE Cat.24 (maximum download speed of 3 Gbps)

These chips, both the Exynos 990 and the Exynos Modem 5123, will begin manufacturing this year and are expected to be present in the upcoming Galaxy Note 11 and Galaxy S11.
