Acer announces Liquid Z5 and Android tablets Iconia B1, A1-830 for CES 2014

Acer is another brand that will be updated at CES 2014. The Taiwanese manufacturer has devices from several operating systems, trying to cover all possibilities. We bring you the renewal of two of its ranges for Android. For smartphones we have the new Acer Liquid Z5 and for tablets we will see two new models at a very competitive price, the seven-inch Iconia B1 and the eight-inch Iconia A1-830 renovation within its already veteran Iconia range.

We had already introduced the Z2 and Z3, now it is the turn of the Acer Liquid Z5, an Android smartphone from 5 inches although of unknown resolution. The design is quite accomplished, weight of 147 grams, rounded edges and measures 145.5 x 73.5 x 8.8 mm thick The Z5 also comes with improvements in sound, DTS Sound technology and front speaker.

Inside the Liquid Z5 we will have a Dual-core processor MediaTek MT6572 at 1.3GHz, Android 4.2.2, dual-sim, 4GB of internal memory and the classic Wi-Fi and GPS. The camera is another aspect where they try to take care, despite being a smart-priced smartphone they introduce a 5 megapixel camera with f / 2.4 and a pixel size of 1.4um, which according to Acer provides them with less granulation in a low visibility environment.

In the Acer software it is one of the brands that introduces its own applications, offering up to four different profiles; basic mode, senior, classic and keypad mode, plus a free 30-day subscription to Acer Cloud.

The Acer Liquid Z5 will be available from February for a price of € 179.

Acer's first tablet is also the smallest. With a screen of 7 inches we find a thin tablet, with a new texture on its cover and whose color you can choose between red and gray The Iconia B1 will be moved by a processor dual core at 1.3Ghz, probably the same as found in the Acer Liquid Z5. It will come with 1GB of RAM and its memory (unknown) will be expandable via SD card.

The Iconia B1-720 (WiFi 16 GB) will be available in Spain from February for € 129.

Finally Acer presents the Iconia A1-830, its new Android tablet with 7.9 ″ IPS display and 1024 × 768 pixel resolution, which seems a bit short but whose aspect ratio 4: 3 has some followers. With metallic finishes, this tablet clings to aluminum to achieve a comfortable and elegant design with 8.15mm thickness and 380 grams.

Inside will come with a processor Intel Atom Z2560 1.6 GHz and 1 GB of LPDDR2 memory. The battery will offer up to 7,5h of autonomy and it will have 16GB of internal memory expandable via SD cards. The rear camera will be able to record video in FULLHD although we do not know its megapixels again. It will also come with large speakers that are expected to have a good sound.

The Iconia A1-830 will be available from April at a price of € 169, a competitive price for a good Intel Atom processor. We leave you the image gallery provided by Acer.

Accompanying these devices, Acer will launch a series of accessories to complement the experience a bit. He Crunch Keyboard and Crunch Cover are a lightweight keyboard and case and can be purchased in various colors. We hope that Acer shows more information next week, but we are glad that they continue to renew that mid-range at a competitive price that although it does not represent the best Android experience is a good way to open the doors of this operating system to those with lower budgets.
