Practical guide for the FIFA 20 Ultimate Team game mode

The expected FIFA 20 game is now available. Like every new installment of this popular franchise, the graphics and features are much better and this year is no exception. There is no doubt that one of the most popular modes in the successful football franchise, and for good reason, is Ultimate Team. Users have full control over their staff formations, training, transfers and game strategies. At first, it may seem a bit overwhelming for the newer ones, but our guide FIFA 20 Ultimate Team will tell you everything you need to know to start and enjoy, from how to win card packages to complete the objectives.

The popular EA Sports video game was released on September 29, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can enjoy the version "Legacy" on Nintendo Switch, although it uses the old Ignite engine and does not include all modes.

What is Ultimate Team?

Fifa 20

Ultimate Team, also known as FUT, is a custom card-based mode, unlike anything else you can find in the game. Instead of choosing a prefabricated team or recruiting players, you build your team using cards, which you buy with real or game money. Something like the figurine albums that were popular with children a few decades ago.

As you improve your team, you can choose to enter single player leagues, tournaments or special team matches. You can also take the game to an online experience to compete against other players. Everything you do gives you more points that you can use to improve your team, and when you find a player who no longer has a role in your squad, you can sell it to other Ultimate Team users to get more money.

Putting together your equipment

When you start FIFA 20 Ultimate Team mode, your team will not be as skilled as the prefabricated ones you use in Kick Off or Carrera modes. Most of them are at the bronze level, making them relatively inefficient individual players, but you can still score goals and defend yourself in difficult situations if you make good decisions and keep track of your players' energy levels.

You'll want to get some stars to lead the charge, and that's where the store becomes important. Use the right front button on your controller (RB on Xbox One or R1 on PlayStation 4) to scroll to the right, and you can buy individual packages from FIFA Ultimate Team. You can use game coins or FIFA points, which can be purchased with cash.

If this is your first time, you may be tempted to choose the Bronze packages, but we recommend storing your points until you can buy one of Silver. Having only one playmaker can make a difference in closed matches, giving you more coins, which you can then use to buy more card packages and better players in the transfer market. Eventually, you can buy packages of Gold and even Premium Gold, which will be delivered to your team of several star players, as well as useful items.

Choose wisely

When you open the card packages, you will receive permanent additions to your list and loan players. You can only use the players yielded for about seven games and, in general, have a significantly higher score than your usual headlines. Occasionally they reach 90 minutes with players like Cristiano Ronaldo.

You probably want to throw them to play immediately to increase the score against another team, but consider your opponent before doing so. Against a low-ranking rival, essentially losing the potential of a star's talent, and after the seven games have ended, they will be gone forever.

Take your time to examine your team for areas that can be improved. For example, if your star player is your forward, investing all your coins to acquire Antoine Griezmann in the transfer market will not be as beneficial as improving your defense or your goalkeeper. However, if there is a star available for an irresistible price, you can always change the formation of your team or try to sell them in the transfer market and earn some coins.

Complete your goals

Goals in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team If you meet the goals in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, you may receive rewards.

Ultimate Team offers daily and weekly goals, which offer you additional coins, and occasionally cards, for completing simple activities. Some only take a few seconds, requiring you tasks as easy as organizing your team members in certain positions or matching players with good chemistry between them. After completing these objectives, you can re-organize them as you see fit.

The bonuses you receive are apparently lower at first, but they can be crucial to keep your team steady after several games. Some grant you consumer items, such as contract cards and physical conditioning, that can keep your stars in a game for longer. Without them, you are forced to change players long before the end of a match.

Seasonal Objectives

New in FIFA 20 These are seasonal goals, aimed at longer-term tasks and that also give you rewards. If you complete them over the course of the current Ultimate Team season, you gain experience points that will unlock new prizes. These can include loan players with very high scores, which can be vital for the most difficult games.

If you are new to Ultimate Team, you can complete the Foundation Objectives in FIFA 20 and receive rewards for simple activities, such as improving team chemistry. The long-term key objectives last more than one season and will allow you to earn rewards for important moments during your career in this game.

Use consumable items

When you open packages with a dozen cards, you can ignore new consumable items, such as contracts or exercise plans. Do not forget to send them to your team with the players.

After a certain number of matches, your permanent players will not be available if they do not have a contract. According to their characteristics, these allow members of your staff to participate in more games. However, contract cards cannot be used on loan players, so you can't convince superstars to stay indefinitely.

Exercise cards will give your stars more resistance for their next games. If you like to run, the members of your squad will be exhausted after each game. The use of a physical conditioning card fully recharges your physical capacity, ensuring that they are available for the next game. Be sure to use them in soccer players that you cannot easily replace, that is, they occupy positions for those who do not have a substitute.

Also remember to keep track of consumables and not use them in excess. You can do this easily when you select Action in a player of your team and you choose Use consumables. It will show a list of each good and how many you have in stock. The game will recommend the ones you can use by default, but you should always do a review on your own.

Equipment battles

Team battles in Fifa 20

Squad Battles returns in FIFA 20. Give you coins according to the performance you have in relation to other players. Sers classified in different levels, so if you fail to climb to the top of the ranking after defeating Bayern 23-0, you can win a useful package of defenses for your last season as an individual player. The daily match limit was also eliminated, so you can play as much as you want.

You will have rivals to face at any time, but in the beginning it is easier to do it with those who have a skill level of 70. In this way, you can accumulate objectives and work on the finest points of your defense.

As you win more cards and go up in the qualification, you will have tougher opponents. Rivals change quite regularly, so if you don't like any of the available alternatives, you can go back the next day and you will probably find better options.

Check card odds

The chances of getting a high skill player in a FIFA 20 Ultimate Team card package may be slim, but at least you can check the odds of getting certain players.

To do so, go to the tab Store in Ultimate Team and select the type of package you want to buy. Before doing so, press Options or Men in your control to increase the probability of obtaining a particular level of player.

As you can imagine, the odds are reduced when the potential rewards increase. These are the possibilities depending on the type of package, but we recommend that you also check them directly in the game.

  • Bronze: 100 percent chance of 45+ players, 62 percent chance of 60+ players, 12 percent chance of 63+.
  • Bronze Premium: 100 percent chance of 45+ players, 75 percent chance of 60+ players, 33 percent chance of 63+ players.
  • Silver: 100 percent chance of 65+ players, 27 percent chance of 70+ players, 3.3 percent chance of 73% players.
  • Premium Silver: 100 percent chance of 65+ players, 41 percent chance of 70+ players, 10 percent chance of 73+ players.
  • Gold: 100 percent chance of 75+ players, 7.7 percent chance of 82+ players, 3.4 percent chance of 83+ players.
  • Premium Gold: 100 percent chance of 75+ players, 19 percent chance of more than 82+ players, 4.7 percent chance of 84+ players.

Avoid the penalties

During a game and with the risk of being scored, it can be extremely tempting to use a tackle Slider to retrieve the ball. Certainly, there are times when that technique can be valuable and necessary, but often lead to a yellow card and a free kick.

Although this warning forces your player to be more careful in the remainder of the game, it will not have immediate effects. But if you make another foul, receive a red card, which will force you out and no one can replace it until the end of the game. But receive a suspension, so you will not be available for upcoming games. If this occurs, you should have a replacement that takes its place.

If you want to avoid these penalties, minimize the use of the sliding tackle. Instead, you can try to win your opponent's position to take away the ball. If you have a team with expert defenses and do not change their location, you must recover balls without problems.

Do not miss the opportunity to redirect a pass when an opponent makes a cross change, since it is relatively easy to intercept it and send it to the other end of the field.
