For the past nine years, photographers from around the world have followed the DigitalRev TV channel on YouTube.

So much so that it has more than 1.7 million subscribers, which makes it the most popular YouTube photo channel.

And part of this popularity is, no doubt, thanks to DigitalRev's YouTuber star, Kai Man Wong.

Known to viewers simply as Kai, he joined DigitalRev in 2009. But now, however, Wong and DigitalRev are going to go separately.

The news of this separation was announced, as it could not be otherwise, through a video on Wong's new YouTube channel.

In the video, Kai thanks everyone at DigitalRev, while explaining the plans he has for his own channel, which he could discuss other types of technology, in addition to the gear or mechanism of a camera. He also shares some advice that any YouTuber or person looking for a job in video production appreciate.

"Life is about seizing opportunities, setting foot in the door," he says in the video. "But sometimes it's about creating opportunities," he adds.

Wong had applied for an editing position at DigitalRev, but he convinced the company that the future was to create entertaining and original content – and that was exactly what the company let him do – the "Cheap Camera Challenge," which was about Putting an old-fashioned or toy camera in the hands of a professional was one of his most successful creations.

Wong, who is from the United Kingdom, worked for DigitalRev in Hong Kong, along with the equally hilarious cameraman and occasional co-host, Lok Cheung.

The two had very different personalities, which made this photography show surprisingly entertaining.

However, in 2015, Kai decided to return to the UK and DigitalRev TV was no longer the same, according to FStoppers.

However, after a successful seven-year career, it is difficult to ask for more. DigitalRev TV continues, of course, but without its charismatic star its future is now a bit confusing. Long probably attract many viewers to your personal channel, but your content may be somewhat limited, at least at the beginning. With a little luck, the transition will be beneficial for both Wong and DigitalRev and viewers will soon be able to enjoy much more content.
