Google celebrates Wimbledon with a hidden game in search results

Google Tennis Game

It is not the first time nor will it be the last time that the search giant integrates interactive content related to an event into its search results. On this occasion, it's the turn of the Wimbledon tennis tournament, one of the most important classic tennis events in the world and being held these days in the United Kingdom.

Google allows us to enjoy a 8-bit style tennis game if we enter the term Wimbledon in the search box. This game presents two random characters that hit the ball on a static net in a kind of classic Pong clone that gives us points as we hit the ball.

Cats, astronauts, dogs, bears, chickens … are some of the characters that represent the players. To move the player, we just have to tap on the right or left side of the screen. The more times we hit the ball, the speed of the game will increase.

To enjoy this mini game we have to do the following steps:

  • First, regardless of the browser and equipment we use, we have to enter the search term Wimbledon in Google.
  • Next, we move the blue four to the left until a green tennis ball is shown.
  • Pressing on the tennis ball will execute the game.

Every time we run the game in the corresponding browser, we see how nor the highest score has been stored that we could have reached in previous games, so if you want to challenge your friends, we must remember to take a screenshot.

The Wimbledon tournament ends next Sunday, July 14, and for now in the two remaining semifinals there are two Spaniards, so if both win, a final composed of Spaniards could be held, which obviously guarantees that the title falls to Spain.
