Consumer Reports has analyzed the new iPhones 11 and has updated its classification of smartphones by adding the three new Apple models. For now, the iPhone 11 Pro models outperform Samsung phones, while the iPhone 11 is among the top ten.
Consumer Reports is a prestigious American magazine created in 1936 by the Consumers Union, the American consumer union. This organization impartially tests and analyzes all types of products, without ads, and not for profit, to inform the American consumer.
Just published your analysis of the new iPhones, highlighting several important aspects:
Consumer Reports praises the battery life of the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. In their tests, they indicate that the iPhone 11 Pro Max worked for 40.5 hours, a big change compared to the 29.5 hours of its predecessor model, the iPhone XS Max.
The iPhone 11 Pro held 34 hours with the same test, and the iPhone 11, 27.5 hours. To do this battery life test, Consumer Reports uses a robot simulating a human finger, and uses the phone as if a person used it in their day to day. Browse the internet, take photos, use GPS navigation, and make phone calls. Obviously, the same scheduled routine is used for all devices equally.
The camera features do not go into too many technical details, but they do ensure that the iPhones analyzed obtained some of the highest scores in this category. For the quality of the rear camera, the three models obtained very good ratings, in line with the best cameras in the competition. The two Pro got some of the highest scores of all smartphones in the still image tests, staying the iPhone 11 somewhat below. Instead, The three models did obtain an excellent rating in video recording.
The three terminals survived a water resistance test, but instead the iPhone 11 Pro did not pass a durability test. This test consists of introducing the device into a rotating camera, which simulates a fall of the hand phone while standing, from a height of 75 cm. The damage of the device is verified after 50 falls from different angles, and then another analysis with 100 falls counted. A very hard test.
The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max endured the test well. They exceeded 100 impacts and suffered only minor scratches. Instead, the iPhone 11 Pro did not withstand the 50 falls. My screen was broken and it didn't work. The test was repeated with a new terminal and also broke.
Costumer Reports has given an overall score of 95 to the iPhone 11 Pro Max, 92 points for the iPhone 11 Pro, and 89 points for the iPhone 11.
