Netflix found more success than he imagined when, in 2016, the first season of Stranger Things presented the public to an interesting girl with paranormal powers, who along with a group of young people and many other inhabitants of the city were involved in a world Dark, fighting with terrifying creatures and mysterious government agents.
The three seasons of Stranger Things have won a lot of praise, both from professional critics and viewers in general, so it is not surprising that the fans began to look at a fourth season of the show only a few seconds later That the most recent adventure began.
And now, Netflix has officially given the green light to season 4 through the first trailer, and the previous success of the series ensures that we will see more of Eleven, Dustin, Steve and the rest of the Hawkins gang. Therefore, below you will find the rumors, news, videos and everything that is known about the fourth season of Stranger Things.
(Note: This post contains Season 3 spoilers, so read at your own risk).
The first official trailer is launched
In a cryptic video that shows us a dark world and in which you can only see shadows, hear strange sounds and see the title of the series that turns red and black, Netflix presented the official announcement of the fourth season of Stranger Things. Leaving more questions than answers, the video concludes with the phrase: "We are no longer in Hawkins."
One more season or maybe two!
The producer and director of the series, Shawn Levy, said in an interview that the show's creative team already had a fourth season planned since 2018, and that "it will definitely be happening." In addition, the story could also go beyond that season.
"There is the possibility of a season beyond season 4," Levy told Collider. “And what I will say is part of the chaos and fun of this particular program, is that although we always start with a good sense of the main arcs of history in each new season, we are always ready for changes and surprises, because if Duffers (the creators of the series) encounter a different or surprising inspiration while rewriting the script, we will follow that inspiration and discard some ideas, to embrace some new ones that are more exciting. ”
Possible release date
Nothing is official at this time, but it is worth noting that the release dates of each Stranger Things season so far have followed a somewhat predictable pattern. The first season premieres in July 2016, while the second season premieres in October 2017. Season 3 returns to a summer premiere in July. If the program continues with this pattern, Stranger Things season 4 is likely to arrive on Netflix around Halloween in 2020 (or if they choose to wait an additional year, 2021).
What characters will come back?
The bittersweet ending of the third season of Stranger Things saw Hawkins' heroes separate and go different paths, after the heartbreaking loss of some key characters. But it shouldn't come as a big surprise if the cast meets again for the fourth story of the show. Everything can happen in Stranger Things.
Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the young cast members are expected to return for season 4, along with Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), Karen Wheeler (Cara Buono), Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman) and, given their Surprise appearance in the end, Dr. Sam Owens (Paul Reiser). Teenage characters Jonathan Byer (Charlie Heaton), Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) and unrecognized hero Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) are also expected to reprise their roles.
However, a character whose fate remains in the air is police chief Jim Hopper (David Harbor), who apparently died in the final episode of the previous season. A post-credit scene included in the finale has led many to believe that the character known as "the American" referred to in the scene, is in fact Hopper, who somehow ended up in the Soviet Union after the events of season 3. Harbor itself has hinted that the story has not yet ended for him, although he was busy playing the main character of HellBoy, the film directed by Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.
