today announced the global availability of Threads, an application available for free
for Android and for iOS (appearing in stores throughout the day) that seeks to replace the Instagram instant messaging tool (direct messages), although it does not replace it: what appears on one side is reflected on the other.
The difference is that Threads is a messenger only for "close friendships" and privileges photos and short texts. The only contacts that can chat in that application are those who on Instagram are identified as best friends (it serves on Instagram to, for example, publish content that is only for them and that you do not want to make available to the rest of our followers).
In Threads it is possible to share photos, videos, messages, Stories and more. The app allows you to keep track of who can talk to us. These contacts that are part of our last group can be configured in any of the two applications. Threads is inspired (like other Instagram functions) on Snapchat, since the first view is dedicated to the camera: it is privileged to capture the moment and share it before seeing what others are saying. In fact you can put a shortcut to those contacts from the camera, so that sharing an image is as fast as possible.
As in other messengers, it is possible to define a state (studying, traveling, etc.); The application will be able to manage that state automatically if the user allows it, trying to determine what it is doing based on the location, movement and use of the battery. However, it does not share the user's location: it only suggests in its state what it is doing (and why it may not be responding to a message).
