My mobile does not pass the logo and gets caught when turning it on: here the solution

mobile gets caught in the logo solution

You take the mobile, turn it on and see that it does not pass the logo. Although it may seem an uncommon problem, the truth is that it is more frequent than we would like, especially in Android phones. Xiaomi, BQ, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Honor, OnePlus, Motorola, Nokia … No cell phone is exempt from this problem. Usually, the cell phone gets caught when you turn it on in a process called bootloop, and the solution of this problem depends on the mobile we have and if it has a custom ROM or a factory ROM, that is, an Android version unmodified by third parties.

If my mobile has a custom ROM

In this case, we will most likely be aware of the entire process involved in installing a ROM using a custom Recovery (TWRP and derivatives). To solve this problem we will have to Access Recovery through the key combination applicable to our phone and perform a Wipe All / Factory Reset.

We can also choose to install the ROM again if we have the relevant file or restore a backup. With all the options just mentioned we will lose the data hosted on our phone: applications, application data etctera.

If my mobile does not have a custom ROM

In the event that the phone comes with a factory ROM, the procedure is similar, although we will have to resort to the brand's own Recovery, commonly known as Recovery Mode or Recovery Menu.

It can be fixed bootloop without losing data? The truth is that no: all data will be deleted, except those stored on the memory card. This last process, by the way, is called Hard Reset, that is, "hard erase" or "extreme erase."

My Samsung mobile gets caught in the logo

Solving the Bootloop problem in a Samsung mobile phone depends on whether we have a recent mobile (Galaxy S8, S9, S10, Note 9 …) or a less current one (Galaxy S7, A5, J7 etc.). In the first case, we will have to access Recovery using the following key combination:

  • Volume Up and Bixby button at the same time
  • Power button later

If we have a relatively old cell phone, the combination is as follows:

  • Volume Up and Home button at the same time
  • Power button later

Inside the Recovery, we will navigate to the option of Wipe Data / Factory Reset and accept its application.

My Xiaomi mobile does not pass the logo

To solve this problem on a Xiaomi mobile phone (Mi A1, A2, Redmi Note 5, Note 6 Pro, Note 7, Mi 8, Mi 9, Mi 9T, Redmi 5, Redmi 6, Redmi 7 …), we will turn off the phone and press at the same time the following key combination:

  • Power Button
  • Volume Up Button

When we have gained access to Xiaomi Recovery, We will select the Wipe Data option with the phone volume buttons. Finally we will confirm the operation by clicking on Ok.

Huawei / Honor gets caught at the start

Having the same EMUI-based system, Huawei's native customization layer, the process to follow is the same in Honor mobile (Honor View 10, View 20, 10, 10 Lite, 9 Lite, 8 …) and Huawei ( Huawei P30 Lite, P20, P10, P Smart Plus etc.).

  • Power Button
  • Volume Up Button

Once inside Recovery, click on Clear data / Reset factory settings. We can also try Emptying cache memory, although it usually does not work. Safe Mode is another option if we believe that the cause of the Bootloop in Huawei / Honor has been an application. In this case the system will restart normally with the basic services preloaded.

LG gets caught in logo

In the case of LG phones (LG G6, G8 ThinQ, V30 …) the process is similar, although we will have to enter a different button combination than usual:

  • Power Button
  • Volume Down Button

Within the Recovery Menu, the assistant ask us directly if we want to format the mobile completely. We will accept the operation and wait for the process to finish correctly.

Lenovo / Motorola does not pass the logo

Accessing the recovery of a Motorola or Lenovo mobile (Moto G5, G6, G7 Power, E5, Z2 …) is something different from the usual process. First we will have to perform the following key combination:

  • Power Button
  • Volume Down Button

Once inside, We will select the Recovery mode with the Volume buttons and automatically the phone will restart with a screen that will show us an android resting. To access the full Recovery Menu we will have to press the following combination:

  • Power Button
  • Volume Up Button

Finally we will access the full Recovery, where we will have to select the option Wipe All / Factory Reset to perform a full Hard Reset.

Nokia gets caught at the start

The way to proceed in Nokia phones (Nokia 3, 5, 7, 5 Plus, 8 Sirocco, 9 …) is similar to that of Motorola phones. To enter the Recovery Menu we will have to press the following button combination:

  • Power Button
  • Volume Up Button

Then we see a color screen with some indications in English. If we want to access Recovery we will have to press the previous key combination again for a few seconds. Finally the phone will restart and launch the traditional menu, where we will select the option of Wipe All / Factory Reset.

Other mobile brands (BQ, Doogee, Blackview, Ulephone …)

If we have a Chinese mobile, with a Mediatek or BQ brand processor, the process is the same in all cases.

  • Power Button
  • Volume Up Button

In the case of BQ phones, we will directly access the System Recovery. If we have a cell phone of Chinese origin, we will have to select the Recovery Mode option and then press and hold the Volume Up button to prevent Recovery from appearing in Chinese. Finally, click on Wipe All / Factory Reset.
