Performance, battery life and charge
The Note 10 Plus uses the flagship processor of the year: the Snapdragon 855. It is a fast chip, with extremely good performance for games and applications. But the iPhone XS Max features Apple's Aion Bionic, which delivers gil performance and smooth play. In this aspect they are tied.
What about the battery? The Note 10 Plus offers a capacity of 4,300 mAh compared to the 3,174 mAh of the XS Max. We have not yet been able to test the Note 10 Plus battery, but depending on the performance of the S10 Plus, we expect a duration of just over a day, although its larger screen and resolution may reduce it. The XS Max also reaches a duration with a single charge. Both phones offer strong fast charging capabilities. The Note 10 Plus has a maximum limit of 45W, while the XS Max reaches 30W. The Note 10 Plus comes with a 25W charger that, according to Samsung, allows 100% charging in less than an hour. That's much better than the XS Max, whose fast charger you must buy separately. Both also have wireless charging. Although Samsung offers a faster charging speed, we prefer to wait to see how the performance and battery life of the Note 10 Plus are compared with that of the iPhone XS Max in the real world.
Design and durability
Beauty depends on who looks, but we doubt that someone denies that both phones are attractive. The iPhone is iconic and its screen with edge-to-edge notches and the gold-effect glass body are impressive. The Samsung is equally striking, but for other reasons. It has no notch, but a perforated screen that extends throughout the front. It practically has no bezels and is amazing. The two phones offer excellent design, but will they be durable? The glass always be fragile, so you will need a cover for anyone you choose. Fortunately both offer water resistance with IP68 rating, so they can survive one each in the pool. The two are beautiful for different reasons and are matched in terms of durability, so in this regard we can not give the victory to either.
As corresponds to their names, both phones have large screens. The iPhone XS Max has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 2,688 x 1,242 pixels. It is bright and vivid. But the huge 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display on the Note 10 Plus is one of the best. With a maximum resolution of 3,040 x 1,440, it is sharp and flawless. IPhones have always had excellent screens, but Samsung's are the best option.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus
The iPhone XS Max has two lenses: a main 12 megapixel lens with an aperture of f / 1.8 and a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with an aperture of f / 2.4. Take great photos, so it is on our list of the best camera phones. The selfie lens on the front is a 7 megapixel TrueDepth and captures excellent photographs.
However, it faces an impressive technology. The Note 10 Plus has taken the limit further with a four-lens system: a 12-megapixel primary one with variable aperture (changes between f / 1.5 and f / 2.4), an ultra-wide 16 megapixel lens with f / 2.2 aperture , a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with aperture of f / 2.1 and a DepthVision that captures depth data. It also has a 10 megapixel selfie camera on the front, compatible with Samsung night mode when you have low light. Although we have not had many opportunities to play with the Note 10 Plus camera, based on the performance of the S10 Plus, we predict that Samsung's new phone will be imposed in this category.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus
Software and updates
The Note 10 Plus runs the Android 9.0 Pie system on Samsung's One UI interface. Gone are the years in which the South American manufacturer's platform was a disadvantage. It is soft and intuitive, and also offers excellent gesture controls. But the iOS 12 on the iPhone XS Max is just as good, with a gil performance, a great app store and innovations. It is a narrow category, so the choice depends on your personal tastes.
However, when it comes to updates, it is somewhat less personal. Apple is the benchmark for gil and durable software support. It takes a couple of days to regularly update devices with up to 3 years old with the latest operating system reviews. On the contrary, Samsung usually takes more than six months to update their phones and those who are older than 2 years, rarely receive the latest versions of Android. In this tem Apple is imposed.
Winner: Apple iPhone XS Max
As flagship phones, both have many special features. The iPhone XS Max is equipped with the latest Apple technology, which includes Face ID facial recognition, Memojis with AR technology, shortcuts for the assistant Siriy ms. The Note 10 Plus benefits from Samsung's legacy, including Bixby, VR support and features of the S10 range, such as the on-screen fingerprint scanner and Wireless PowerShare.
But it is the S Pen that gives the advantage to the Note. It has been redesigned with beveled edges to offer greater comfort and new features. You can use it to draw on the faces with AR, use Air Actions to control the screen and convert handwritten notes into text using Microsoft Word. It also has an improved Dex desktop mode, which can be activated by connecting it to the USB port of a laptop.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus
Price and availability
The iPhone XS Max is available with prices starting at $ 1,100 dollars for the 64GB model. It works on all US operators. UU. and is available in a wide variety of stores. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus is available in advance purchases from August 8, and from August 23 for store purchases. Like the iPhone, the Note 10 Plus starts at $ 1,100 dollars.
After a very hard battle, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus gets the victory. This is due in large part to Samsung's incredible screen technology, the versatile set of cameras and their special features, including the S Pen. But it is a narrow result. The iPhone XS Max does not disappoint you as a camera or screen, and also has many attributes. But in terms of responding to be your best investment, you should choose the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
