Have we ever talked about DC Dimming. In addition, the Huawei P30 received DC Dimming just a few months ago. But in case you have a Mate 20 Pro and you don't know what this is. We tell you in detail.
DC Dimming What is it
As many of the features that are being implemented go software on many phones, they come to solve some problem that the phone has. So to know what DC Dimming is, we will first have to know what problem it is solving.
OLED displays like the one mounted by the Mate 20 Pro work with a technology calledPulse-width modulation(Pulse width modulationin Spanish). This technology reduce or increase the duty cycles of the screen signal depending on whether it increases or decreases the brightness of the screen.
But using PWM (acronym by which this technology is commonly known) creates a problem. When using the screen with low brightness and greatly reducing the working frequency of the screen signal, and therefore the current received by the screen, creates some blinks. And you may not see them, but your eyes do. Y It can cause dizziness or headaches.
DC Dimming comes to solve this problem. And it is software, this technology allows to regulate the amount of current sent to the screen. So you can also increase the working frequency of the signal, so these flashes, so it ends the problem of dizziness or headaches when you use the phone in low light.
