How to crop a photo with Paint (Windows)
Microsoft Paint is not exactly the most robust image editing program that exists. Even the new version in the Windows 10 Creators Update that includes many useful features leaves much to be desired.
However, this software has been preinstalled on all Windows computers since the company launched Windows 1.0 in 1985. It is not loaded with advanced tools or impressive capabilities, but its clipping tool is good for simple editing.
Step 1: Open the Paint application and use File> Open to open the image you want to edit. Click on the button Select and drag the tool to circle the portion of the image you want to crop.
Step 2: When you are satisfied with your selection, click on the Trim which is to the right of Select.
How to crop a photo with Photos (MacOS)
Photos is a program to manage and edit images exclusive to Apple's MacOS operating system. It works similarly to the now extinct iPhoto. Like Preview and Photo Booth, this minimalist image software comes preinstalled in the latest versions of MacOS, so anyone who has a computer with MacOS Yosemite or newer has access to the application. With Photos you can easily group your images into albums, tag them, categorize them and trim them.
Step 1: Open the image you want to edit in Photos. Click on the button Edit in the upper right corner (at this time the system may ask you to add the photo to your library). Now you see three buttons at the top: Adjust, Filters Y Trim.
Step 2: Click on Trim. If you wish, click on Appearance to choose an aspect ratio for your edition. Otherwise, just adjust the rectangle to cover the portion of the image you want to crop.

How to crop a photo with Photoshop (Windows / MacOS)

Pixlr is a mobile and online mobile editor that is perfectly capable of cropping images in your browser window or on your phone. This software that uses the model freemium It does not require you to do much besides uploading an image or entering the URL of a photo before cropping the image, and as with Fotor, the process to do so is almost the same on all platforms.
Step 1: If you use the online software, navigate to the main Pixlr site and click on the option that says Open Pixlr Editor on the left side (you will have to have Adobe Flash enabled in your browser). Then, choose the button Open image from computer and look for the photo you want to edit.
Step 2: Click on the trim cone in the upper left corner of the toolbar, represented by a box with lines protruding from the corners. Then click and drag the selection to the area of the image you want to keep. You can also use the menu Constraint which is in the upper left corner to establish specific proportions for the desired size and aspect ratio.
Step 3: When you are satisfied with your selection, double click inside the rectangle to apply the changes.
