YouTube for Android improves its interface in landscape mode

Streaming content consumption is increasing and video is one of the elements we use the most. There we have payment platforms such as Netflix or HBO but it is YouTube for Android that is most relevant in mobility.

That is why its developers have wanted to subtly but interestingly improve the YouTube application interface for Android, giving us options in landscape mode that were previously only in landscape mode.

New horizontal buttons

Specifically, the change occurs when we slide from the bottom up in a video so that the related videos appear. Just below that section, which is not new, we have another that is. In it we have four buttons that we already know about the vertical interface:

  • I like it.
  • I do not like.
  • Share.
  • Save.

In this way we can interact with the video without having to stop watching it or without turning the phone, something practical when we want to send it quickly but we want to continue watching it.

This allows the usability of the application to be greater and that social elements are invited to use more often, without having to change the mobile's inclination.

YouTube for Android improves its interface in landscape mode

In order to try this new YouTube interface for Android you have to use the beta version of the application (either v14.19.54 beta or 14.20.50 beta) since it has not yet reached the stable version. To do this you must register in this section of the Play Store.

If you do not want you can also download the APK from APK Mirror. Now we hope that these changes also reach the desktop version.
