Not only be the first Android designed to work with 5G phones, but also be a pioneer in adapting to foldable cell phones, which is one of the disadvantages that these teams have today: not having a system that facilitates and optimizes the use of two or more screens simultaneously.
The idea is that Android Q adapts to the new format in a fluid way to allow, among other things, to run the tasks in the background.
Android 10 also bring as one of its great novelties the "Live Caption" tool. With it, a user who is watching a video without connection on the phone will have the possibility to read subtitles and transcripts in real time of the contents that are being played. In the beta, the function is only available in English, but the company said it is working so that it can also operate in other languages soon.
Google also announced that the future generation of Android have the option to activate the "dark mode" in the interface. This design has recently become very popular among social networks and applications, as the screen of the device changes the traditional white background to black. Also Its main promise is to save energy and battery.
The operating system update also comes to solve vulnerabilities that put users at risk. Some patches that bring Android 10 respond to remote code execution, denial of service, authorization to activate permissions, among others.
"Security and consistency" were the words I chose Dave Burke, vice president of Android engineer, to describe the next operating system. In this sense, the company pointed to two new functions that promise to strengthen security.
One is the "Focus Mode" with which users can pause those applications as a "do not disturb", a similar version is present in Android Pie. Activating this function stops notifications and the app cannot be accessed until the lock is deactivated. The other is a parental control that allows you to limit the usage time of the applications.
Not only with being compatible with fifth-generation networks, the new version of Android wants to point you to connectivity. The operating system bring a tool that allows you to share Wi-Fi with a QR code.
In the Settings section there is the option to search the network and generate a QR code that you can share with others so that they connect and thus save the task of giving passwords. The process can be authenticated with fingerprint.
For now there is no official release date, but here you can find out which cell phones will be updated to Android 10 later this year.
