As planned, Xiaomi has presented the new Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in China, where they will be launched before starting their international deployment with the aim of becoming the new best-seller in the company's catalog. As was the previous Redmi Note 7.
But, What has really changed? Only a few months have passed since the presentation of the Redmi Note 7, and it is likely that, for many, the advances that this new generation brings are not enough to justify the jump from one version to another. For others, however, it may the novelties that the Redmi Note 8 introduces are worth, especially knowing that the terminal lands at a exchange price of 125 euros in its most basic variant.

Familiar appearance with extra cameras
The physical appearance of the phones is one of the aspects where we will find more similarities. Both arrive with a body of glass and aluminum, whose front part houses a large 6.3 inch IPS Full HD + screen in both cases, with a small water drop shaped notch that houses the front chamber.
If back hides the capacitive fingerprint reader, as well as the photographic system, formed by two lenses, 48 and 5 megapixels in the Redmi Note 7, and for four, of 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixels respectively in the Redmi Note 8.
It is clear that Xiaomi has focused on trying to offer the most complete and versatile photographic section possible in this new generation, although it does not forget to offer the good image quality that was already a quality of the Redmi Note 7.
Internal renovation by Qualcomm
Unlike his older brother Redmi Note 8 Pro, this Redmi Note 8 is committed to a Qualcomm processor, Snapdragon 665. It is a chip manufactured in eleven nanometers, whose eight Kryo 260 cores drive it up to 2 GHz of power,
It is not very different from the Snapdragon 660 that mounts the Redmi Note 7, manufactured in twelve nanometers and with the same technology Kryo 260 giving life to its nuclei. The biggest difference is that in the new generation 3 GB RAM configuration disappears, and we can only choose variants with 4 or 6 GB of RAM, and 64 or 128 GB of storage.
Your batteries are kept in the same 4,000 mAh capacity, and how could it be otherwise we have fast charge, although not with wireless charging. About its software, it is enough to comment that both models run Android 9 Pie, customized by MIUI in its version number 10 ..
The differences between the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 are not exactly abysmal. After all, as I said at the beginning, it has only been a few months between the launch of both models. However, the starting price of the two devices has not changed, and in return we enjoy an extra RAM, a slightly higher processor and a more versatile camera system. We will have to wait, that s, to Xiaomi carries out the launch of Redmi Note 8 in markets beyond China to see if it's really worth it compared to what, until today, has been one of the most popular phones in the brand's history.
