The founder of Huawei, Rei Zhengfei, states that "probably" the company's operating system will be up to 60 percent faster than Android.
In an interview with the French media, Le point, the executive spoke ofand mentions a study of GlobalTimeswhich reveals that Hongmeng OS be 60 percent faster than Google's mobile platform. The study, however, does not specify in what aspect to be faster.
Zhengfei ensures that your operating system is not only oriented to mobile phones, but is designed to connect to multiple devices, including phones, cars and data centers. On the other hand, the executive highlights the importance of having an application store similar to Google Play Store or App Store and admitted that Huawei currently lacks a serious alternative, although it is already working to create it.
These statements by Zhengfei suggest that regardless of whetherfrom the US Department of Commerce, the company will continue to work on its own operating system.
However, according to statements by the company's vice president, Ken Hu, made to Sina Tech News and collected by DigiTimes, Hongmeng OS will be an alternative to Android to consider "only if the company has no other option."
These comments from Hu take away strength from previous rumors about whetherthey will arrive with their own operating system, in addition to the vice president affirming that the company has not yet established a specific timetable for the launch of Hongmeng OS.
